Our Beliefs

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received through faith in Jesus Christ whose blood was shed on the cross at Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Ephesians 2:8) Through the death and resurrection of Jesus we can be set free from sin and death.

Sin

We believe that sin is failing to live up to the standard of life presented by God in the Bible whether in action or in the motive of the heart. Because of sin, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless born again; that salvation is only by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. And that all who receive Him through faith are declared righteous by God and become children of God.

The Bible

We believe that all 66 books of scripture were written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, are void of error in their original manuscripts, and are to be viewed as the supreme authority in all matters of faith and our everyday lives. (2 Timothy 3:16).

Baptism

We believe in baptism as an ordinance of the church for every believer after they have come to repentance and faith in Jesus. They are immersed in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a public confession that they have been saved by Jesus and a demonstration that their old, sinful life has been buried with Christ.

Church

We believe that the Church is not just a building but is made up of all those who have been saved by Jesus throughout the generations and have become genuine followers of Jesus Christ. The church exists to worship and glorify God. NCM is not a local church but seeks to connect the students at Oregon State to a local church body.
